Sydney Dance Company is looking for its next artistic director, after 17 years under Rafael Bonachela.
Sydney Dance Company is hiring the artistic director who will follow Rafael Bonachela, in the job since 2009. The company has a full-time ensemble, makes new work and repertoire, and tours across Australia and internationally. It also runs what it calls Australia's largest public in-studio dance class program.
The job is to set the artistic vision: the repertoire, the commissions and collaborations, and the development of the ensemble and its artists. The company says the right person may be a choreographer, a maker-curator, or an artist who can bring different creative voices together around one clear vision. Applications are open to candidates in Australia and abroad, with help to relocate.
The search is run by REA arts + culture, an executive search firm for creative industry leaders in Australia and New Zealand, with Gregory Nash supporting it in Europe.
