TOHU fills August with free programming in Saint-Michel, starting with Les Lumières on 7 August.

TOHU's fourth edition of Les Lumières de Saint-Michel runs 7 to 9 August at parc Frédéric-Back, free. Friday brings the Foulée Illuminée, an illuminated run with parkrun, followed by the Grand Défilé des Lumières, a lantern parade, on Saturday.

TOHU is recruiting volunteers for both: the Friday run and the Saturday parade. Compensation is a pair of tickets to a 2026-27 season show, no cash, which makes it a low-friction way for a Montréal artist to get in front of TOHU's programming team.

Grain de ciel, the kite festival, follows 14 to 16 August. Italian artist Claudio Capelli, who fuses painting and kites, is guest of honour. A free vernissage opens 14 August at 17h, and the illuminated night kite ballet, Vol de nuit, flies the same evening from 20h30.

More free activities follow on Fridays 21 and 28 August and 4 September. Outside Saint-Michel, TOHU is also touring Eau là là, a family piece by Becky Priebe and Nadine Louis with a participatory workshop by Monsieur Poï, to Laval on 6 and 9 August.
