École nationale de cirque opens its 2027-2028 admissions cycle, with the first audition stage done on video.

The École nationale de cirque has published the calendar for its 2027-2028 intake. Registration opens on 28 September 2026 and closes on 6 November, and the first audition stage runs inside that same window.

That first stage is a video audition. The school describes it as accessible depuis n'importe où, meaning the round itself can be completed without travelling to Montréal. What the page does not spell out is whether candidates resident outside Canada can apply, so anyone outside the country should ask the school before building a plan around it.

Candidates who come through the video round are invited to Montréal for the in-person stage. Cirque-études secondaires auditions run 6 and 7 February 2027. The collegiate programs, the DEC 561.D0 and the AEE, run 9 to 12 February 2027, by invitation only.

Both the Arts du cirque programs and the Cirque-études secondaires stream sit inside the same cycle. Replies go out by email during March.

The useful part of this calendar is the gap between now and 28 September. A video audition is not something you put together in the week it opens, and five weeks is roughly what it takes to get footage worth submitting.
