Cirque Éloize opens a rebuilt Serge Fiori - Seul Ensemble at Espace St-Denis on 29 August.

Cirque Éloize reopened its Gare Dalhousie studios in Montréal to rebuild Serge Fiori - Seul Ensemble, not restage it. New circus acts, new disciplines, new visual tableaux, redesigned scenography, all still built on the songs of Serge Fiori and Harmonium.

This isn't a première. The show first ran in 2019 and sold over 70,000 tickets before the pandemic shut the tour down. Seven years later, the company says the new version folds in what's happened since, rather than simply putting the original back on stage.

Nineteen artists are on stage, directed by Benoît Landry, with musical direction from Louis-Jean Cormier and Alex McMahon. Maxime Puché Luneau performs on sangles aériennes, Angelica Bongiovanni on roue Cyr, among discipline credits spanning mât chinois, planche coréenne, banquine and duo trapèze.

Montréal runs 29 August to 18 September at Espace St-Denis, 20 performances. From there: Québec's Théâtre Capitole (29 September to 3 October), Gatineau's Casino du Lac-Leamy (27 to 31 October), Saguenay's Palais municipal (18 to 20 February 2027), and Sherbrooke's Salle Maurice-O'Bready (3 to 6 March 2027).
