Two Nordic application windows close in September for 2027 opportunities

Riksteatern is accepting pitch and preview applications for CirkusExpo 2027, its industry platform running 17-20 February in Stockholm. The call is open only to companies based in Sweden, Denmark and Finland, and closes 13 September 2026. It's presented jointly with the Swedish Arts Council, the Danish Arts Foundation and Circus & Dance Finland.

Worth being precise about which edition this is: CirkusExpo already ran once this year, in February, on a call that closed back in September 2025. This is the next cycle, for February 2027, on its own separate application.

A different, unrelated opportunity closes five days later. Performnord, a new international platform for Nordic performance art, stages for the first time 2-12 September 2027 in Copenhagen. It's produced by Metropolis, the Copenhagen International Theatre company led by artistic director Trevor Davies.

Performnord's eligibility runs wider than CirkusExpo's. Metropolis describes the call as open to "Nordic and international professional artists living and working in the Nordic countries," and also to Nordic artists based and working outside the region.

Two of the only open Nordic platform calls heading into 2027 land five days apart, and the eligibility doesn't overlap cleanly between them. Worth checking which one actually fits before applying to either.
