circusnext names its four 2026 laureates, and all four show work in Créteil on 23 and 24 September

circusnext has named its four laureates for 2026, chosen from ten finalists. All four present a fragment of a show still in creation at the Maison des Arts de Créteil on Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 September, both nights at 7.30pm.

Daniel Kvašňovský (SK), working out of France, brings "Les choix tremblants / cirkus nevkus", built on rope, hula hoop and clown, with the full creation due in November 2026. Verena Schneider (AT) comes from Austria with "Holding on to everything I've got", on equilibrium and juggling.

Cie L'Art Nak, led by Christian Padilla (EC) and based in France, shows "Don Baltha", a juggling piece. Aurora Dini (IT), also based in France, shows "Sola", on aerial hoop and contortion. Those three all have full creations set for 2027.

The format is four maquettes in one evening, so the ticket buys a survey of where emerging European circus is pointing rather than a finished show. Full price is 10 euros, with reduced rates between 5 and 7.

The Maison des Arts de Créteil, which presents the two nights as part of MAC Élan, says laureates get structuring support, production support and European visibility. circusnext picks four of them a year.

Worth noticing who these four are. None of them is French, and three of them work out of France anyway, which says something about where an emerging circus artist currently has to be to get seen.
