Take Art and Circus City are booking four circus companies for a 2027-28 South West England tour

Take Art and Circus City have opened applications for Circus Around and About+, a touring project that will send four circus companies across South West England between June 2027 and May 2028. Companies based in the UK and in the EU can apply.

Each selected company gets at least four or five performances out of 26 bookings in total. The fee is stated in the call: £1,350 to £1,500 per performance day for UK companies, and 2,100€ per performance day for companies based in the EU.

There is also a bursary of up to £1,000 to £1,500 for adapting an existing show to community touring, where a show needs it.

The tour covers Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Somerset, plus urban venues in Cinderford, Gloucester, Bristol, Stroud, Bridport and Weston-super-Mare. Circus City describes the settings as parks, housing estates, community centres, village halls, churches, beaches and schools.

Applications close at noon on 19 October 2026, through a form on Take Art's site. Arts Council England supports the project.

An open call that names the fee before you apply is not the norm. Most touring calls offer the platform and leave the money to be worked out later.
