CAM en tournée opens its 2027-2028 call, with two information sessions before the 30 September deadline.

The Conseil des arts de Montréal has opened applications for the 2027-2028 edition of CAM en tournée. The deadline is 30 September 2026.

The programme does something most funding does not: it pays for remounts. Works have to have been publicly presented in a professional context before the application deadline, and they have to be compatible with at least three partner venues. It runs with the Maisons de la culture de Montréal and ADICIM, circulating those works across the Island of Montréal.

Two online information sessions cover the call, its criteria and the steps to follow. Both run 11:00 to 12:00, on 1 September and 11 September.

Eligibility is tied to Montréal. Collectives need a majority of members, 50% plus one, resident on the Island of Montréal. Individual and sponsored artists need to have lived there for at least a year. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, though up to a third of a collective's members can live outside Canada.

Circus is in the mix rather than adjacent to it. The current tour includes SCUSE by Frédérique Cournoyer Lessard, a documentary circus piece, programmed alongside dance and concert work.

If you are not in Montréal, the thing to take from this is the model. A city arts council funding the second life of a work, and routing it through neighbourhood venues, is a mechanism that barely exists elsewhere.
