Circumstances is casting 3 bases and a flyer for BEYOND's third touring season
PARTNER ACROBATREPLACEMENTACRO-DANCE
Circumstances, a circus company based in Leuven, Belgium, is recasting BEYOND for its third international touring season, 2027 to 2028. It needs 4 performers: 3 acro-dance-oriented bases and 1 flyer.
BEYOND is a circus performance about balance, trust and the limits of collective movement. The show already exists, so the new cast takes over existing roles, with room to make the material their own. The company wants one committed team for the whole season.
The engagement is paid on a project basis: freelance contracts cover the rehearsal periods, performance dates and travel days. Pay follows the Belgian collective labour agreement for the performing arts (PC 304). Travel for rehearsals and touring is covered, travel to the audition is not.
REQUIREMENTS
- ·A bachelor's degree in circus arts or dance with substantial partner acrobatics experience, or equivalent professional experience. Interns are also welcome.
- ·Strong physical stamina, grip strength and confidence working at height.
- ·You learn existing choreographic and acrobatic material quickly, and you enjoy collective work, on and off stage.
- ·Touring means a lot of time together, irregular hours and helping to set up and take down the show.
- ·The legal right to work in Belgium, and able to get any visas or work permits the international tour needs.
- ·Performers based in Belgium are particularly welcome and can be hired through the company's payroll. Performers based elsewhere work freelance (self-employed).
- ·Available for every audition, rehearsal and touring period. Availability is a key selection criterion.
DISCIPLINES
- ·3 acro-dance-oriented bases: physically strong movers with experience as a base in partner acrobatics, excellent movement qualities and an affinity for contemporary dance.
- ·1 flyer: excellent body awareness, balance, partner acrobatics skills and strong movement qualities.
- ·Open to performers of all genders with a background in contemporary circus, acrobatics and/or dance.
